Silver Lake Art Craft & Vintage Fair

Over the weekend I spent some time going to a local craft fair here in Los Angeles.  Although on the smaller side with only two dozen vendors, it had it's share of interesting art, clothing, furniture and more.

One artist that caught my eye was photographer Janna Jude Brown.  She takes polaroid photos from her travels, enlarges them, and then mattes them on foam board.  Very reasonably priced at about 12"x12".  You can see more of her other work at her website www.jannajude.com.

Another artist's work that stood out was Spoke N Wheel Designs.  They make these quirky custom bicycle bells, as well as some amazing handmade jewelry.  The faces of the bells are all original designs that have been cast in resin to create a glass-like effect.  They come in a variety of finishes and multiple styles.  Anything from a simple monogram to a one-eyed blue monster.  Keep in mind that these pieces can be completely custom with any image, names, or dates.  It is a great way to add some spice to your bike, but also a unique party gift, or party favor.  Check out more of their products at Spoke N Wheel Etsy shop.

Other finds that day:

Cute little plush toys

Interesting crystals that could be used as a paper weight on your desk, or just some extra bling on your shelf.

Glamourous trays for perfume bottles, or to display other items.

Unique furniture and lamps

Old suitcases great for display and extra storage.

Interesting headboard

Remember to utilize the local art and craft fairs in your neighborhood.  Not only will you fulfilling the important task of supporting local artists, but you will find one-of-a-kind items for yourself or for others at oftentimes discounted prices.
